چکیده
Application layer networks are software architectures that allow the provisioning of services requiring a huge amount of resources by connecting large numbers of individual computers like in Grid or Peer to Peer computing Controlling the resource allocation in those net works is nearly impossible using a centralized arbitrator The network simulation project CATNET will evaluate a decentralized mechanism for resource allocation which is based on the economic paradigm of the Catallaxy against a centralized mechanism using an arbitrator object In both versions software agents buy and sell network services and resources to and from each other The economic model is based on self interested maximization of utility and self interested cooperation between agents This article describes the setup of money and message ows both for centralized and decentralized coordination in comparison Decentralized Resource Allocation Mechanisms and

Decentralized Resource Allocation in Application Layer Networks
Application-layer networks (ALN) are software architectures that allow the provisioning of services requiring a huge amount of resources by connecting large numbers of individual computers. The ALN simulation project CATNET evaluates a decentralized mechanism for resource allocation in ALN, which is based on the economic paradigm of the Catallaxy, against a centralized mechanism using an arbitr...
متن کاملCoordination of R&D Effort, Pricing, and Periodic Review Replenishment Decisions in a Green Supply Chain through a Delay in Payment Contract
This study contributes to the literature on supply chain coordination by coordinating the research and development (R&D) effort, retail price, and inventory decisions. It investigates a real case in the home appliance industry. The main purpose of this study is to examine the optimal values of R&D effort, pricing, and inventory decisions under decentralized and centralized structures. Then, a d...
متن کاملSolution of Active Power Dispatch and Control for Interconnected Power Grids with Large-Scale Wind Power Integration
As large-scale wind power has been and will be integrated into power grid, traditional Active Power Dispatch and Control (APDC) system has encountered new challenges. In this paper, the active power dispatch mode of interconnected power grids which is suitable for the large-scale integration of wind power is analyzed firstly. Secondly, it is pointed out that traditional decentralized balance co...
متن کاملCoordination of a Bi-Level Closed-Loop Supply Chain considering Economic and Green Transportation Modes
In recent years, comprehensive researches have provided ample support for the supply chains in the coordinated decision-making framework. However, the issue of closed-loop supply chain coordination considering various transportation modes has not yet been addressed in the literature. In this paper, a two-echelon closed-loop supply chain consisting of a manufacturer and a retailer is investigate...
متن کاملTask-Oriented Computational Economic-Based Distributed Resource Allocation Mechanisms for Computational Grids
In computational grids, heterogeneous resources with different ownerships are dynamically available and distributed geographically. It is not realistic to build the resource allocation mechanisms for such computational platform without considering economic issues. Developing computational economic-based approaches is a promising avenue for building efficient, scalable and stable resource alloca...
